Planning for Progress

Pinellas County Schools hosted a series of community meetings across the district to share school-specific data and gather feedback on population and enrollment trends, facility planning and school utilization.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

Arrival Procedures:

  • Arrival begins at 8:15 (NO Early Drop-Offs)

  • Breakfast is offered each day. If your child is being dropped off at the car rider circle and wants breakfast, please let them know that when they enter the campus, they will walk straight to the Main and Main walkway and turn left to head to the cafeteria.

  • If your scholar arrives after 8:45, you will need to escort them inside the office and sign them in. Scholars should not enter the building by themselves.

PreK 3 and VPK scholars and siblings will be dropped off (hand-to-hand with a staff member) using the Little Panthers gate closest to the YMCA.

Kindergarten through 5th grade scholars need to be dropped off in the car line or enter through the Walkers Gate.

Dismissal Procedures:

  • Dismissal begins at 2:55 pm

  • We encourage families of K-5 scholars to use the car line as their primary pickup option.

Kindergarten students NOT identified as car riders or bus riders will be released either through hand-to-hand with a staff member using the Little Panthers gate closest to the YMCA or with a relative (Ridgecrest student) to walk home.

Please ensure that your child's kindergarten teacher knows how your child will be dismissed.

Walker's gate is a "No Wait" gate. All students identified as walkers in grades 1st-5th will be released at 2:55 PM through our walkers' gate. We strongly encourage families to use our car line, as we will not be holding children at this dismissal route.

For safety purposes, please avoid the bus circle parking area from 8:15 am to 8:45 am and 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Scholar Pick-Up Reminder

For the safety of all scholars, scholars may not be signed out after 2:30 PM.

Per Pinellas County Schools, for the safety of all our scholars, a physical, government-issued photo ID is required every time you pick up your scholar. Photos or copies of an ID on your phone cannot be accepted. Even if our staff knows you or you visit the school regularly, you must have your physical ID with you each time.

Thank you for helping us keep our scholars safe and for following these important safety procedures!

As we get close to dismissal, our staff and scholars are transitioning and preparing for a safe and organized dismissal. In addition, parking in front of the school is reserved for our buses to arrive and park safely. Please plan appointments accordingly.

Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe, smooth, and organized for everyone!

Rainy Day Plan B

If your child is a walker or bike rider, please have a backup plan for dismissal. These storms have been very bad as of late, and we want everyone to stay safe!
